The general public perception of traineeships in Australia 2. The structure of traineeship/apprenticeships at C-Mac (e.g. number of days/hours trainees spend at OAC, the type of training, etc) 3. The resource requirement to run the traineeship/apprenticeship programme 4. The competitive advantage of traineeship over the academic track 5. The working relationship with the government, vocational educational institutions and skills council, to ensure high-quality teaching and learning for students [Interview C-Mac Staff](https://www.cmac.com.au/contact)   [Sheetmetal](https://www.cmac.com.au/sheet-metal-fabrication-sydney) •    Matt (completed apprenticeship and now doing post graduate business degree), •    Chris (3rd yr mature aged apprentice) [Engineering](https://www.cmac.com.au/engineering-gear-cutting) •    Alex (2nd yr apprentice) were interviewed by the delegation. Career paths and how each chose their trade were the main questions. General Manager Robert McMaster gave an overview of C-Mac staff training, working with TAFE and University, differences between traineeships and apprenticeships, how staff were interviewed and selected. Government incentives, apprenticeship contracts and funding. [Singapore Ministry Of Education](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Education_(Singapore)) directs the formulation and implementation of education policies. It has control of the development and administration of the Government and Government-aided primary schools, secondary schools, junior colleges, and a centralised institute. It also registers private schools. [Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA)](http://mskills.com.au/info/about-us) as a co-host with C-Mac Industries, is the national body responsible for ensuring that manufacturing enterprises have the workforce skills they need to be globally competitive now and into the future. MSA works with enterprises, employer and industry associations, trade unions and industry advisory bodies to identify what skills are needed and how these can most effectively be implemented in industry.   **Recognition of C-Mac by MSA as a leading company and a example of the quality of training provided in Australia has encouraged staff at C-Mac. C-Mac’s long term policy of employing one or two apprentices each year over the last 40+yrs demonstrates clearly the companies commitment to ongoing training and the long term sustainability of C-Mac and manufacturing in general.**     [![Share on Facebook](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/facebook-24x24.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cmac.com.au%2Fnews%2Fsingapore-ministry-of-education-delegation-visit-c-mac%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on LinkedIn](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/linkedin-24x24.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cmac.com.au%2Fnews%2Fsingapore-ministry-of-education-delegation-visit-c-mac%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on Twitter](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/twitter-24x24.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cmac.com.au%2Fnews%2Fsingapore-ministry-of-education-delegation-visit-c-mac%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cmac.com.au%2Fnews%2Fsingapore-ministry-of-education-delegation-visit-c-mac%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Singapore%20Ministry%20of%20Education%20Delegation%20Visit%20C-Mac) [![Share on Email](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/email-24x24.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cmac.com.au%2Fnews%2Fsingapore-ministry-of-education-delegation-visit-c-mac%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cmac.com.au%2Fnews%2Fsingapore-ministry-of-education-delegation-visit-c-mac%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) **Click to share it or make comments below!** ### Subscribe to Blog Updates ### Subscribe to Email Updates **\* C-Mac respects you and your privacy. C-Mac made changes to the tooling to make access and ease of use to decrease service down times. \*\[Service Manager\]\* An industrial fan service company had a failure of a major shopping centre air conditioning fan/ blower. C-Mac repaired the unit within a 24hr turn around for minimum downtime. \*\[Owner/Manager\]\* A major food manufacturer specializing in tomato sauce had a filling machine breakdown. The machine was brought to C-Mac and repaired in 24hrs for minimum downtime of the production line costing $5,000 per hour. \*\[RAAF - Warrant Officer\]\* Airfield support staff required a portable sandbagging frame and requested a design, prototype and trials at no cost. There was nothing suitable on the market i.e. made in Australia. "Sandbagging Frames":materials-handling/1-bagging-equipment#silt-bagging-frame are now on the national procurement data base and some probably overseas at different war zones. \*\[Mechanical Design Engineer\]\* An automotive transmission design customer needed help with designing an automatic transmission gear prototype. We suggested and engineered a more cost effective and practical way for the mass production stage. \*\[Nursery Manager\]\* At an exhibition saw our self tracking nursery trailers and indicated he had a costly issue transporting large (heavy) pots containing advanced trees. Existing method was a bobcat. C-Mac designed and quoted for the manufacture of a Self Tracking “Low Loader”. His comment on the first day of using "Low Loader trailer":nursery-equipment/7-trailers/#low-loader-self-tracking-trailer “Can now move 100 litre pots with trees, 150 metres in 1 hr and not get a sore back”. \*\[Purchasing Officer\]\* A mining design and machining company needed help with machining components urgently as they were too busy to keep up with the demand. C-Mac machined the components so the deadline could be met. \*\[General Manager\]\* Customer had to submit a proposal and compete against other countries for the manufacturing facility. C-Mac submitted drawings to show there was space in existing plant to install the new process and to comply with all Australian OH&S Standards. Working together with customer to submit proposal to the Head Office overseas WON the contract. Project was a success meeting 6month lead time and budget. \*\[Nursery Owner\]\* Needed a specific Potting & Mixing machine. for his yuccas nursery, but the problem was it was no longer manufactured. From his description and specifications our engineers designed and modelled in 3D software his requirements. "Potting Machine":nursery-equipment/3-potting-machines/ was manufactured and fully tested with potting media in our workshop, video was then sent to customer who was very pleased with the results. Machine disassembled and freighted interstate and installed. \*\[Maintenance Engineer\]\* An industrial hydraulic fitting manufacturer had problems with gear and shaft breakages with their machinery. They also had problems repairing and maintaining. C-Mac offered to repair and maintain their machinery on-site instead of having to permanently employ fitters. ## Information - [About](https://www.cmac.com.au/about-us/our-history) - [Careers](https://www.cmac.com.au/employment) - [Blog](https://www.cmac.com.au/blog) - [Contact Us](https://www.cmac.com.au/contact) ## [Locate Us](https://www.cmac.com.au/contact) 21/64 Drummond St South Windsor NSW 2756 Phone: (02) 9631 6000 ![](https://www.cmac.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/images/infocmac.com.au.jpg?width=170&name=infocmac.com.au.jpg) Copyright 1966-2022 @ C-Mac Industries Pty Ltd [![Connect with us on LinkedIn](https://www.cmac.com.au/hs-fs/file-357023590-png/images/linkedin.png "Connect with us on LinkedIn")](https://www.linkedin.com/company/c-mac-industries-aust-pty-ltd) [![twitter_icon](https://www.cmac.com.au/hs-fs/hub/320163/file-2404272988-png/images/twitter_icon.png?width=28&height=28&name=twitter_icon.png)](https://twitter.com/CM_NurseryEquip) [![Google_plus_icon](https://www.cmac.com.au/hs-fs/hub/320163/file-2406624891-png/images/Google_plus_icon.png?width=28&height=28&name=Google_plus_icon.png)](https://plus.google.com/112714079408736501768) [![Youtube_icon](https://www.cmac.com.au/hs-fs/hub/320163/file-2410967582-png/images/Youtube_icon.png?width=28&height=28&name=Youtube_icon.png)](https://www.youtube.com/user/CMacIndustries/videos) [![Follow us on Facebook](https://www.cmac.com.au/hs-fs/file-355333581-png/images/facebook.png?width=28&height=28&name=facebook.png "Follow us on Facebook")](http://www.facebook.com/pages/C-Mac-Industries/229124343802420)
