The Hunter Melanoma Foundation (HMF) was formed to provide moral and financial support to the Newcastle Melanoma Unit. Funds raised are directed towards patient facilities, community education programs, and melanoma research in our region.
The primary focus of the educational program is the reduction of sun related illness and cancer in future generations which has obvious direct and indirect benefits to our community.
Not-for profit community group formed in 1986 by patients of the Newcastle Melanoma Unit. Funded solely through community donations and fundraising the Foundation aims to promote and advocate sun safety and awareness in the Hunter leading to a reduction in the incidence of melanoma and other sun related cancers.
